“You may ask yourself, well, how did I get here?”

Posted on Dec 4th by William in Creative outlets, IdealGov stuff

I pinch myself to find that I’m not behind the wheel of a large automobile. This is not my beautiful house. This is not my beautiful wife. Hey – here’s my interview for Ivo Gormley’s new film Us Now. I’ve turned into a Talking Head!

Ivo’s posted all the intervews on YouTube. Somehow they all – me, Ed Miliband, Dan “chips in your underpants” Tapscott, Clay Shirkey, Charlie Leadbeater – make out points with far more clarity in the edited final version. Well done editor! And the whole thing is pacy, stimulating, funny use of music. Well done all.

It’s a cracking film – engaging, exciting, very funny – really full of humour. The wonderful scenes of Ebbsfleet United bring tears to your eyes. And Ivo has captured a moment which is destined to be a cinema classic for the Idealgov pertinent art community. Ed Miliband enthuses about the internet ,but asserts the role of government. After all, he says, after a moment of puzzlement, if there weren’t government, where would all the resources come from? Ed, baby. We pay our taxes! Did you forget about us? Did you really start to believe it was not our money but yours, graciously to hand out from on high? There’s a beautiful edit from Ed looking confused to another talking head saying that those in power will find this confusing…Well done Ivo!

BTW, a thought re YouTube….I find that one “talking head” clip of me on YouTube brings a link to another –

.

Me rambling on about sustainable security for an IBM gig. Quite intelligent linking.

But hey – look here. It also brings up a link to me on the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1984 with the Mystery Girls performing Robert Girl’s song Ash in Drag. That’s pretty smart. How do they do that? I didnt know my name was in the credits or anything. Is that metatags?
